![]() If the Apple Pencil battery is allowed to drain down to 0% and allowed to stay in that flat condition for more than a couple of weeks, or so, that very tiny little Li-ion battery is too small to keep at a 0% state for a long period of time and it will completely fail, leaving you with a dead, useless Apple Pencil. The Apple Pencil needs to be kept charged to a minimum of 5-10%, or greater, all the time. Since I wasn't familiar with the pencil, I didn't know that I was missing the tip. ![]() I called Apple support and he talked about the "tip". I decided to try it again and the pencil didn't work. I tried the pencil when I first got it and it's been sitting around for a week or two. I decided it was time to upgrade my 3rd gen ipad and purchased a 9.7" with apple pencil.
